    Christ Must Reorient You
Going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in their boat mending their nets. Immediately He called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed Him.—Mark 1:19–20 We have a natural tendency to find our “comfort zone” and then position ourselves firmly in place. If you are in a situation or lifestyle where you are perfectly capable of handling everything, you have stopped growing in your understanding of God.
  2. Forgive to Be Forgiven

    Forgive to Be Forgiven
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.—Matthew 6:12 Few things are more precious to receive than forgiveness. After carrying the burden of our sin, it is wonderfully freeing to know that the one we have wronged has completely forgiven us. Jesus told His disciples to ask God for forgiveness every time they prayed. Jesus knew that we would daily incur debts against God, as we inevitably fall short of God's standard. A day does not go by that we do not need to ask God to

    Be Anxious for Nothing
Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.—Philippians 4:6 Don't be anxious! Paul said there is nothing that should cause a child of God to worry. He was well aware of things that cause anxiety. His nation was occupied by a foreign army and ruled by corrupt leaders. He was writing from prison, where he was being held as a result of false accusations. He was separated from those he loved; his motives had
  4. He Knows Your Need

    He Knows Your Need
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Jesus wants his followers to be free from worry. In Matthew 6:25–34, he gives at least seven arguments designed to take away our anxiety. One of them lists food and drink and clothing, and then says, “Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all", then goes on to say that God wants to provide those needs for us. I have five children. I love to meet their needs. But my knowing falls
  5. Are You Being Made Perfect?

    Are You Being Made Perfect?
Though a Son, He learned obedience through what He suffered. After He was perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him.—Hebrews 5:8–9 There is a positive aspect to suffering. We all endure suffering to some degree, but the good news is that through it we can become like Jesus. Are you willing to pay whatever price is necessary in order to become like Christ? There are some things that God can build into your life only through suffering. Even Jesus, the sinless Son of

    Compelled to Serve
Your people will volunteer on Your day of battle.—Psalm 110:3 One mark of revival, during which God comes to His people in power, is that God's people are compelled to offer their lives for His service. Many churches lack people who are willing to get involved in carrying out God's redemptive work. The mission fields are crying out for Christians to go and share the gospel with those who've never heard it. What we need is not more pleas for volunteers, but an outpouring of the power of God.
  7. The Baptism of Our Lord

    The Baptism of Our Lord
Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, "You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased." - Luke 3:21-22 God spoke these wonderful words to his Son when Jesus was baptized. God feels the same about us when we follow our Savior's example and are baptized, too! Jesus pours out his Spirit on us (Titus 3:4-7)

    GET CLEAN
He touched my lips with it and said, "See, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven."- ISAIAH 6:7 (NLT) How do you deal with the awful and unsettled sense of guilt? Have you ever felt bad about an unpleasant thought, something you did wrong or said wrong? If yes, please put your hand up. Raise it high. Wave it with me. Did you wave your hand? We all can. Because we’ve all missed the mark at times, right? Isaiah felt the same way. When God

    TIME TO RETURN HOME
“When Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.”- MATTHEW 2:19 What if the most powerful man in your country was your opponent? Herod, the king of Israel, heard another king was born. Was his royal position in danger? He looked for the newborn king in vain. In a dream, an angel of God had already instructed Joseph, the child’s step-father, to move to Egypt with his mother, Mary. After several years, Joseph received instruction in another dream to return to
